Chat room
I think it would be pretty helpful for people who need info immediately and for us impatient folks if a chat room were set up. Either a dedicated room built into the site or one and made hosted on a different one such as tinychat. Also it would help us get to know our fellow monte enthusiasts. What do u guys think?

Hi `Matt,
It's a great suggestion 4-Sure, but it has been tried several times and it never caught on...Last `Chat Room was started by Mod J.J., and only a few member's participated...
I also thought it would be a great feature...Thanks for your post & contributions..
Now we still have our MEMBER's Blog for active member's
to post & get to know each other, and let us know what's happening in their life...
Thanks & Peace`Out from `Space

As Space and Mike already mentioned. A chat room just doesn't work here. Popcorn King JJ very generously setup a chat room a while ago. And despite the links to it, only a few people were using it.
And as far as putting it directly on this site, the owners (Internet Brands) absolutely refuse to have a live chat room, or shout box. For a few reasons. First, bandwidth. With around 100 automotive forums, as soon as one forum gets a chat room, more will want them. And the cost of the bandwidth would be too much.
The other reason, like Mike said, the chat room/shout box would slowly kill the forum. It's been proven to happen to many sites. Everyone posts in the chat room, and nobody posts in threads anymore.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

that would defeat the purpose of a chat room...
i propose an IRC chat room that is not linked to this site in any way...just a place for regulars to hang out/chat, or just idle... of course to not effect the post count here, the IRC would not be publicly promoted...
