I dont know if we already have this and maybe im just blind, but some forums have a chatroom that has all the online members in it so we could talk back and forth much quicker. I dont know just something I think would be nice

 

 

I didn't know about the MCF chat room. Before my time.

Something I was thinking of trying was something that I mentioned in another thread.

In another thread I mentioned that a popular wrestling forum has live discussion threads. In these threads, members post comments and reactions and such while watching the wrestling program live on tv. They post just like they normally would in any thread. But the site relaxes the rule about spam posts, short posts, single word posts, etc... In fact, making long posts in the live discussion thread is a disadvantage. Because by the time you finish typing and post, the action has changed and the topic has changed too.

I was thinking about trying this here during Nascar races. Just before the race, someone would startathread in the Nascar section of the forum, and name it with the race and "live discussion". For example the live discussion thread for Daytona would've been, "Daytona - live discussion". During the race all MCF members are able to post comments and such without getting hit with any warnings for short posts. The rest of the forum rules would still apply.

I know there were many times during Daytona, I was wondering what certain members here thought about what was currently happening.

If you want to give it a try starting with this weekend's race, feel free to do it Space dude. The idea may start out slow with only a few members willing to watch the race while sitting at their computer. But there is potential for the popularity to increase. Only problem is the current state of the forum's operating system. I don't know how the site's operating system will hold out if the idea gets too popular, and toomany people try to post all at the same time.

I am curious what people think of this idea. I think it would be kinda cool for the bunch of us to discuss the race as it's happening.

What do y`all think? Should we try it?

 

i must say i like the chatroom better. cuz with a threads u ahve to keep clickin refresh where as the chatroom will automatically update everytime there is a new post

 

I agree that the chat room would be ideal. But until we get this site upgraded, I don't think the chat room is going to happen. I would love to try the chat room idea if/when we get our upgrade. (crossing fingers)

 

im sure there is some kind of place out there where we can host a chat room for free then just link to it here?

 

red, there are places like that, or at least there were because I used to beonone like thatat one time.

I found a couple that can be added to a website. Let me do some checking into them, maybe I can add one to my website. No promises, but I'll check.
