Default Replaced rear lights w/ LED's Now issue in front

Just a small problem but something I'd like to correct if possible:

I replaced my rear brake lights and rear turn signals with LED's. I added the resistor in the turn signal in order to not have the hyperflash so no issues there. When I went to check to make sure everything was good, I pressed my foot on the brake in my closed garage (so I could see the lights against the garage door). When I press my foot on the brake pedal, both rear brakes and the 3rd brake light come on just like they should. In addition, the dash lights come on and the front parking lights come on too. Anyone have any ideas as to why this would happen?

On the brake light itself, all I did was put in an LED bulb instead of the regular incandescent. On the turn signal, I put a resistor between the two wires leading to that socket. I had hyperflash before I installed the resistor just as I expected. The front parking lights come on when the brakes are applied not when the turn signal is activated. I'm not sure why the resistor would make this happen. Of course, I'm even more confused as to why just putting an LED bulb in would cause this either.

It sounds to me like your LED bulbs are back feeding a circuit. I believe on the rear tail lights, the big bulb socket on the bottom has 3 wires (a ground and 2 different circuits, as it gets used in two different modes). If you put in a bulb that fit, but is NOT the correct type of bulb, when one circuit activates, the other circuit is also being energized.

Try your original bulb and see if the problem persists or verify the compatibility between the bulb you took out and the bulb you put in.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'll try that. The bulb works as it should though. Only half the LED's come on when just the parking lights are on and when the brake is applied all of them come on. It's also supposed to be a direct replacement for the 3057 bulb that is OEM.
