Recommendation for speakers to replace stock.

Recommendation for speakers to replace stock.
I am currently looking to replace my stock speakers on my 04' the front and back, and I am looking at using an old Hifonics Olympus VII (440w x 4)to power them. For argument's sake let's say already that the head unit has been replaced with an aftermarket that has RCA outs. My concern is that I will destroy the speakers using this Amp (Hifonics were known to really underrate their amps back then) so I want to get durable speakers that are high quality at the same time. I do not plan on installing a Sub...Don't need it, and I want a stealth type setup as it is.

What is the price range for your speakers?
On an average price range id look at Alpine type R, JL Audio TR or C2 Evolution, ive herd the kicker 6x9s sound good. Some of the higher end Eclpise speakers are good too, i like there 4 way 6x9 model---not sure what its called
I personally have the JL Audio c2 Evolution 6.5 and JL Audio TR 6x9 3way and it sounds really good.

Nice amp, it was expensive even back in the day. Good THD %! The infinity kappas 693.9i for the back should be able to handle that amp easily and are great speakers. For the front, I would suggest component speakers, like the Alpine and Boston Acoustic.

Definitely go with components up front. Alpine Type X comps are really nice for the price, and also look at brands like CDT, JL, and since you didn't post a budget I'll throw Focal and Rainbow out as things to look at.
If you do get a nice set of components, something you could consider is getting a set of 6x9s dedicated to sub duty instead of doing all that 4-way BS. Tang Band 6x9s are pretty cool for that, and can be found at partsexpress.com. This is something I plan on doing at some point to get my heavy sub box out of the trunk.

Yeah, the price range area is not something I am concerned with at this time as I am in the planning stages, and all recommendations are accepted. I had thought about dedicated bass for the rear as the component set up front would do well for the rest of the frequency range...but last time I did that I noticed a drop in my mid-range area so most likely I would go with at least a 2 way for the 6x9's in the rear.

I have the rear speakers handle the mids and the front components the highs(although they delve a bit into the mids), and the set up sound decent. For bass, you could go with a mono amp and 1 sub (ported box) and have space left in the trunk. Although in these cars the trunk is so big that I have a ported box with 2 12" in the trunk and still have room for tools and things.
