Radio Lights up, But no Sound...

Radio Lights up, But no Sound...
To start off I have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS with 2 kicker 12 inch l5's powered by a ssl 5k amp; all hooked up to the factory head unit.
Now heres my problem, when I put the car into aux my radio and subs play fine, but as soon as i start my car i get no sound out of any speakers or the sub and the amps power light shuts off. The radio still lights up and functions normally. This doesn't happen all the time but coincidence or not it seems to happen only on days that it is below freezing. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Honestly I have no idea where to start looking in terms of trouble-shooting.
If anyone has any advice/fixes to try please let me know.
