Default question for new deck install

i have a pioneer deck i want to install but i do not want to lose my steering wheel controls. i was told i would need PAC SWI-PS Steering wheel control interface for Dual, Jensen, Pioneer, and Sony at Crutchfield.com

has anyone ever installed this themselves that could tell me how difficult it is

i looked up the board to confirm what i thought it was, and i was indeed right, it's basicly one wire that is wired ot the unit, the unit it's self figures out what is doing what by the voltages present, but let me post you the quote for a very knowledgeable member of our forum.

in short, yes you should be able to wing it if you know how to wire up a deck.
