To be honest I do not think you need 2 alternators to run the W7s. With 1 HO alternator I think you will be fine. With what I have now in mine, im running fine on stock alternator.
I also was thinking the same thing. I ran 2 atomic ele 12's off an Earthquake D3 and a Earthquake 2200.4 on the mains with 2 batteries, and never had a problem with a 200A HO alt.

Sure if you add up the total power consumption of all 3 amps- its going to look way overkill for a standard HO alt- but you've also got to figure you're not going to be pulling that full current all the time. You say you don't care about db numbers- and its just a hard hitting street setup- and regular music will be far less intense than sitting there playing a single note at full output. Its not like you're running a winch or something that is going to take a full power draw for seconds at a time.

What is the max current draw on the 3 amps anyways?

I dont know if this is the same comparison or not. But Ill use steve meade tahoe.. He has 30000+ RMS. with 4 alts. thats about 7500RMS per alt. I know he has mechmans now but not sure on final out put But...

Thats why I think you should be more than fine with 1.

Might as well add an extra pair of struts in back, too. It might get overly heavy

ima lay it out for you.. you really dont need a 2nd alt. It wont improve your sound. if you are running stock, upgrade too a 200+ , like the one i linked. but the biggest change you can make is a 2nd battery, like mentioned, it will give you the power, for when it wants it, and since it's not always drawing, you will be fine, you'll just have it for the burst, kind of like a cap, but caps just discharge to fast (the cheapys) not the power cells, the power cell caps, those things are truley godly anyhow, a 2nd batter, and if that dont work a 220 amp alt big 3 upgrade and you should have NOOOOO PROBLEM with the power your talking about with this car. like i said, your problem in the bass department might be solved by adding some more processing You'd be surpriced what an ms-8 can do, or anything really, ive seen awesome results with simple bass reconstructors. i had a buddy with sealed dual 10" type R alpines, an d he threw a bass reconstructor on the channels, and blam he was chudding like a champ. granted his set up sounded like **** but with the right subs, in a properly built box, you're golden.
