Im guessing you will need to get a custom bracket made to hold 2 alternators. The closest thing available would be an overdrive pulley to make it spin faster.

You could make a custom bracket to run the 2nd alternator above the AC compressor/in front of coil tray. You'll also need a longer serpentine belt, you'll have to figure out the length but I'm guessing about 4-5 extra inches.

Thumbs up

I doubt you have the room to do the 2 alternator routine. Have you looked into getting the High output 220 amp alternator? It is almost double the stock 125 amp alternator. Ebay has one for $190....could be a good work around solution for you.
You doing a competition audio system? Or just a kick *** personal use system? Post a list of the audio components your using...

I have a 220 amp alternator already

im running
3 1500watt fosgate amps
2 jl audio w7 13" subs
2 sound processors
3 stinger batteries in trunk
and optima under hood
and just 2 neon tubes above subs for decoration..

shop that does my installs says i need around 300 amp alt
so i was thinking of just getting 2 350 amp mechman custom built alts. but need a bracket or way to install both

it can be done, but i have a 220 amp alt in my 04 monte, works great, i did my research, its lagit, i even had my machanic test it, its a bit low but it does plenty of power, i run 1200 rms on my sub and 600 on my channels, and i have no problems at all.

i also found this one, but i don't know much about this one, i perosnaly own the one from DB, its a great alt. it can be tricky to mount, i had to loosen my motor mounts, tilt the engine, to get the bolt in the hole, not to mention not all of the stock bolts line up, but its a standard size, just go to a hardware store. much easier than running 2 alts, you'd need more wriing, more fusing, larger belt, welding. this is a much cheaper solution

IMO you would have to go to a quality automotive shop, preferably one who builds race cars and such. They would have to look over the car, scratch their head as to what your asking of them and then configure a bracket shape for you. Then they could have it machined or you could source it out. As you know it has to be aligned just perfectly with the other pulleys and such. If money is no option it can be done...

I have an alternator relocation bracket that I bought off of PRJ (prjperformance.com) on my monte (L67- but should be the same on an L36). It removes the AC compressor and mounts the alternator in its spot. I suppose you could theoretically put an alternator down there, but just not delete the upper one.

I know he doesn't have anymore brackets- it was just a short run prototype; but maybe either he could tell you where he got them made, so you could have them make you another- or maybe he could give you the dimensions and specs for you to build it yourself?
