I had the same problem. No sound coming out of the speakers except static. I went back to Circuit City to speak to the guy who told me that the system was a straight-forward drop-in and hook-it-up but he didn't work there any more. He was fired for lying to customers about system compatibility and arrested for dealing dope. The next guy listens to my story and tells me I need a special Analog to Digital Converter, but the only problem is they don't have any to fit Panasonic but the Alpine one was just as good if I bought the Alpine to Panasonic converter that's on back-order and he thinks I should have one of my friends buy it and bring it back so I can get the open box price which would be around seven-fifty to eight hundred depending on the condition of the packing. It's solar powered and needs to be welded to the roof which is bad news for me because its been a lousy winter and cloudy all the time. So, I hookekd-up the old radio back in it and forgot that I was supposed to unhook the battery first and now I have to take everything to the dealer to get my codes plugged in right so that I can listen to my collection of scratched CD's which I should throw away but the Jewel Cases aren't broken yet so its easy toi keep them under the seat. None of this is true but I want you to have hope that things will work-out and you'll get your new system in the Monte and get the speakers working and live happily ever after.

well i had one in my car till this morning wiht out the adaptors etc.... just ahve to make sure you ahve all your wires hooked up and most fo the time this is the issue you might have blowen fuse on the all time power line. easy way to check this is to see if it will hold a station in memory even after the car was shut off.
if so then you might see if there si a extra ground or power wire needed. Mine ha one that had to be in there or it would nto play sound at all or do anythign past light up and look pretty.
