Hood insulation

Frank did an SS i think. You could do some type of hood liner made of vinyl or another material just for show but I think the heat would mess it up. It would have to fold up so you could haul it around tho.

here's mine, which is now long gone in the trash lol, it looked like crap to me
but like mitch said... DO NOT TRY TO WASH IT
you could just use a brush on it, but no water. you can even spray it flat black to make it look newer
when i did my ss, i taped it off with blue painters tape, when i removed the tape it also came off with the insulator material it's so easy to mess up so if you mask off whatever design you're doing make sure you try to make the tape less tacky

Ask me how I know
That's what I did frank, anything that was dirty I just sprayed good and black, anything that's going to fall off will but the paint will be soaked into the next level so it doesn't matter.

Personally. Just get some vinyl. Do your design and hang it on the inside during shows. Take it off and roll it to store it. I would fear creases would be visible if you folded it.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

Mines a DD and looks like the day I painted it. It doesn't get dirty and look like crap, especially if you clean your engine bay. They're meant to be there to put out a potential fire if anything in the engine does start on fire, not get dirty..
The only area you would have to worry about is where the pulleys throw gunk on them and that's pretty easy to solve by just keeping everything by the pulleys clean.

I did
You really don't need to wash it and I wouldn't, it's not the best material, just paint it black. You can paint it with high-temp paint, painting it lightly works way better than heavily, for some reason painting heavy doesn't show up at all (when I did the red), it just soaks up and disappears, weird right?
When I did it, I sprayed the center part red, let it dry, taped it off in the bowtie form and then sprayed the rest black and it turned out great, my dimensions aren't perfect, but it looks alright and is hard to notice any issues with.
