HID"s
you dont need anything to run the ddm kit it comes with everything. if i were running the 55w i would get the harness for them. it would be a shame to burn your wiring. the 35w are more than bright enough. im running the 5k 35w in the headlights and fogs and they are plenty bright, and a little too blue for me. you might get flashed alot with those 55s, and theyre probably going to be fairly blue. i just ordered a pair for my gfs truck 4500k. we'll see if theyre actually white. for some reason her truck has projectors but no hids weird.
oh so i can't install them with out that? does anybody have a video of how to remove the light bulbs? ive honestly done tons of work on car audio but ive never changed a lightbulb
lol but i took a look, theirs a gasket in the back of the housing, but their are harnesses going into a seperate area of the enclosure. :\ maybe when im looking at it with the parts tomorow it'll all come together and make sense lol

I just got off the phone with DDM, they told me i dont need the relay harness. but i think i did forget to mention i was getting the 55 watt kits :\ but their only 6 amps a peice, chevy runs 12 gauge for most their stuff i should be safe.
I have 55w without the harness. Havent had any problems with it. The wiring in the kit isnt any thicker than the stock headlight wiring. I dont think it would make much of a difference power wise. Maybe just a more reliable power source than running through the BCM.
alright well my HID"s come today
can't wait to install them, been wanting to get me some HID's since i got this car. little uneasy now that my buddy was telling me that with out the projector lenses the HID's distance is meh, and my machanic even mentioned he could technicly fail my inspection for not having proper lighting. :\ really not liking all this negativity around HID"s i'll post up some pictures. maybe even a video once i'm done
if anybody stumbles to this thread, the unit i am getting is this one. I got the 55 watt unit my self, with 8k bulbs.

job is done
for the rubber gaskets in case anybody is wondering, i cut a slit and pulled the wires through and i'm going to silacone it than to seal it up from watter, also let it be noted, the DDM 9005 is a horrible fit, and took me 15 mins + just to screw the bulb in because the gasket was oversized, plus the poor wiring connector for the female terminal that hooks into the stock harness, it fited very poorley and i had to mod every single one to fit my harness. all in all, took me about an hour and a half. mostly because i've never even touched a lightbulb, let alone a HID kit. but it was all plug and play. was a real perk that i could remove the headlight with almost no effort by pulling those two peices of plastic up and sliding it out. the whole unit came right out, very clean, very nice.
high beam balast are tied to the bumper, right in front of the rad.

right side low beam ballast mounting. was a bitch to mount, i still don't like where it's mounted but the intake is their and everything is sealed from the engine pay so really had nowhere to go with it, i wanted to mount it down by the fogts but didn't feel like tearing off the panels.
