Head Unit install
Hey again, nother question for yas. I went to pick up the wiring harness for my aftermarket head unit, and the guy told me that there is no 12V power connection on the back of the radio. He said something about a data wire making the 12V connection instead of the usual. He then told me that I had to get an alternate switching 12V source to power my aftermarket unit, a source that turns off when the car is shut off (He said that he did not like tying off of the back of the fuse block). My first question is if anyone has any suggestions on where to tie into to get that switching 12V source (i was thinking the auxiliary power hookup underneath the passenger side dash, but i dont know if that is a switching connection or not). Secondly, all of the setings that are part of the factory radio are going to be lost (i.e. tire pressure sensor, oil change, etc.) i was curious if there was a way to shut them off so that i dont have lights lighting up on my dash. Im just trying to get an idea of what others have done on their installs to solve some of these problems.
Sorry kinda wordy but if you have any feedback, or any alternate ideas, at all please let me know.
Thanks!!!
