Default Have radio turn off with key off

I've got an 02 Monte LS. I'm going to be installing a new head unit, speakers, and maybe an amp. I know these cars have the Retained Accessory Power feature which keeps the radio playing until you open the door.

Is there a way to wire it safely where the radio turns off with the key off?

The aftermarket keyless entry may be the culprit with the interior lights. With the factory keyless entry and the aftermarket Code Alarm system I have, when I unlock the car, the headlights, reverse lights and interior lights all turn on. I believe thats the "Illuminated Entry" feature or something similar to that. No idea on the radio part, sorry.

Are the interior lights supposed to come on when you open the door with no factory keyless entry? Kinda strange how the interior lights come on when you shut the door, but not when you open the door.

I'll have to look and see if I can find the make of the keyless entry that was installed and get a wiring diagram.

Yea, they are supposed to come on when you open the door. My guess is that the keyless entry that you have now is messing with that though, or something alone those lines.
