DRL Fix
Forgive me. I'm getting lost because I turn 60 in June. Go over the bending of the pin for me. I don't understand what direction you bend it. I have an extra relay so why not cut it off?
Can someone help me understand how to disable the DRL's without throwing a code? I can't picture what it is you do with the pin nore which way to bend it.
Rick it dont work at one tiem someoen said it would but it just throwes codes.
the best thing to do is get the harness from b bengineering. he has one there that will allow you to turn them on and off and also others that are just for the motne carlo etc... and make a clean install

OK to clarify. This only works on the 2005 Impala and Monte Carlo. All other years require a different process to disable the DRL. That said. the 2005 W-body's have fuse box/relay box on the passenger side fender under the hood that houses a DRL fuse AND a DRL relay. You can cut or bend the pin to stop it from contacting the point in the box. By doing this you eliminate the circuit that turns the DRL on but the computer still see the relay in the system so it doesn't see a code.
Now on the relay itself. Look under the relay where the pins are and next to each pin you will see numbers associated with each pin. You will look for the pin identified as 85 OR 87. Cut or bend only one of these pins and reinstall the relay. Then your DRL will be off without a code. Again this is for 2005 W-Body Vehicles ONLY. All other years require a different process.
Hope this helps
My DRLs are now perm off no matter if its in Park, R, D, 3,2,1, with or without the parking brake set. NO DRL AT ALL. When the sun goes down lights come on with the sentinel as they should. The reason I personally wanted to get rid of them is I installed an Eclipse NAV system and the screen works off of the lights to dim itself for nighttime driving. With the DRL on the NAV system thinks the lights are off for some reason and would blind me. Now that they are perm off the dimmer system works properly.

I can definately see your point. For me, it's practical to just delete these features for the sake of my HID's, plus it gives other members options on what they want to do. Better to have 2 ways to do it than 1. But to each his own! Enjoy!
