Default Climate Control Problems/Annoyances

Hi this is my first post on the fourm so im hoping im posting in the right place so here are my problems/annoyances.

1. The right climate control slider light is out or at least is not working <a href="http://s1172.photobucket.com/albums/r580/JonRuh/?action=view&amp;current=2012-05-08205115-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r580/JonRuh/2012-05-08205115-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I was wondering how much it would cost to have it fixed or if it would be easy to fix myself and where to get the part.

2. This is something i can live with but was wondering if anyone else has this happen. When I have my fan on level 5 then change it down the A/C turns on.

Like the cluster, wheel buttons and the radio, the HVAC controls are back lit with non-LED lights hard wired to the board.
One option is contact BBEngineer (he's a member on this forum and the Impala News - NAIOA forum). He also has a site for his repair services (link below):
BBEngineering Impala / Monte Carlo Products

If you are good with a soldering iron and electronics, you could also do it yourself. The best fix is replacing with LEDs. I believe to do that a resistor needs placed inline with the LED (don't quote me on that). I think BBEngineer also offers some of that info on his site.

Maniac is right, you could solder it yourself but you would need to solder the resistors inline which is getting a little difficult.

BBEngineer does them for a good price and he does really great work (He has done my cluster, steering wheel buttons, HVAC). For the Climate control it is $60 plus $15 for the button light indicators and I believe it is $20 return shipping.

I am actually going to email him right now for gauge overlay pricing
