Default Which Blinker?

I've seen some Monte's in which the top lights in the taillight assembly are the blinkers and I've seen some that have the bottom brakelight flash as the blinker. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this or how to possibly rewire the lights? My brake light blinks as the blinker, I'd rather have that smaller top light blink, is there even a reason to having the top light if it doesn't blink?

Anyone understand what I'm talking about?

Well I have noticed all the 6th gen montes (such as mine) have the blinker being the top bulb and the brakes being the bottom. Even though the 7th gen taillights look very similar, all the ones I have seen have the bottom bulb doing both brakes and blinking.

That's what I thought, but over the summer I saw several '06-'07 LT and SSs that had the top bulb blink. So I'm sure it can be done, I just don't know how. I much prefer the look of the top blinker, first time I noticed it was on an intimidator.

Really, what's the point of that top light if it doesn't blink or brake?

Well alot of GM products with two bulbs in the tail light share the same type of socket for both bulbs. They should either be interchangeable or they should at least be switchable with minimal modification. You could just switch the top and bottom sockets and have it the way you want. You may even be able to switch wires and bulbs and leave the sockets be if they dont twist into each other's hole.

Okay, I'll have to look into that sometime when I get a chance. Thanks Matt
