heres the deal. I do not post on here as much as i should. I have spent quite a bit of money on car audio alone (about 3000) for my monte. I have 2 12 inch infinity kappa subs powered off of two 500 watt mono alpine amps. I have a pioneer premier double din deck (which by the way looks awesome in the 6th gens). I also own a pair of infinity kappa 6 x 9's and a set of infinity kappa 6 1/2's for the front. all 4 speakers are powered by a 400 watt alpine 4 channel amp. I am running 2 power caps and a yellow top optima. I used to own a pair of alpine type R speakers. they sound alright without an amp, but they really shine when amped. If you are looking for some bass out of your 6 x 9's, then the type Rs are for you. The Kappa series have some ok bass, but its the mid and high ranges when they really shine. I also owned a pair of alpine type S speakers. they also lack in bass. I would recommend to stand clear of rockford fosgate speakers. There are some ok reviews on them, but IMHO they aren't very good. I stand by Infinity and Alpine 100% in everything they do. Speakers are all how someone hears them. You could walk into a store and listen to all of them and think the cheapest ones sound the best, or you could think the most expensive ones sound best. Even if you go into a store and ask a GOOD car audio salesman, he will say just listen and pick the ones that sound best to you.
