Aftermarket Head Unit in 04 SS
Hello, I have a 2004 Chevy SS Monte.
I am wanting to replace the factory headunit to a JVC HD Radio.
I don't care about onstar and while I use the steering controls some I think I could get use to it.
What do I need as in wiring harness wise and will I experience any issues?
Will the factory amp still work with a new aftermarket HU?
I don't care about ONSTAR, Chimes or Steering Controls just want to upgrade the radio.
Thanks everyone,

All you need is the wireing harness adaptor for it . if you want the controlls and Onstar to work you need to ge tthe adaptor for it .
As for the factory Amp. I had my stereo running straight power to teh inside doors and rear deck .
Then a 1000 watt amp runnign the subs in the trunk and they were Pioneer 12".
Sounded very clear, was complamented more then on the sound and the system.
I had the DVD player int he dash with the flip out screen.
Singel din.
If you dont mind the huge deck you have now you can direct replace it with a doubbel din head unit.
This will requier no mods to the dash that i know of.
If you would like to save some cash i have the adaptor for both the Onstar and the factory harness here im not useing . think the adaptor for the harness was like 30.00 and the other one was 60.00 wiht shipping will sell both for 50.00 you pay shipping if your interasted.
This gives the chimes, steerign wheel controlls and also the onstar .
