Been searching for a while and can not find an answer to this. I have the base radio with no amp. I added new speakers with a amp, that was supposed to be able to turn on with the line sense, but it is not working.

Tried the back of the radio, all were always on.

The only switched power is supposedly in the column off the key switch, is this correct? The fuse box and cig lighter all stay on.

Any ideas? I would rather stay away from putting in a seperate switch.

Whenever I put an amp in a car with a stock deck I always run the remote off the "radio" fuse in the fusebox.

 

just tap into another 12 volt line, to your running lights or something. just wire up a relay, to avoid over drawing on the line. that way you can run a direct line for the power on line, and not put any load on the wire you choose. let me think um....i'm not sure if any lights in the rear come on with the car.

also, there SHOULD be a wire for your lights on your dash that come on when you turn the car on.

 

thanks for the suggestions. I guess all the fused wires are hot and the body computor turns everything off and off via a data buss. Running a relay from the DRLs or dash may work.

I think I will just get a line converter with remote turn on. It may even take some of the noise out...
