Default 2004 Monte SS seat cover solution??

Hey all,

I got a southern Monte SS last year. The body is sweet but the front seats are torn to hell and getting worse every day. Why is it my 97' Eddie Bauer Explorer seats still look great with 170K plus on them and the 04' Monte seats are falling apart??) The back seat is mint. I checked the dealer and the black "leather" stock seat covers are like $600 EACH and to get just the front seat backs and seat bottoms reupholstered locally is $500 and the material will not match the factory's. (not even close)

I've checked and the junkyards don't get that many Montes (even in the Detroit area) so there goes that idea. Anyone ever get the Rock Auto Dash Designs seat covers they offer for around $110? They look like a good deal but I may have to silicone them in so they don't slide around and look baggy like seat covers sometimes do.

Oh yeah Katkin listed seat covers for Grand Prixs for about $2000 (ouch!). They don't even list them for Montes.

DH.

Sounds like your from the Detroit area....

Have you tried Highway Auto on Groesbeck and 12 mile rd? (Roseville) or Cutrate auto at 9 mile and Groebeck? How about Taylor auto salvage on telegraph S of Pennsylvania avenue.... Big D auto salvage On Allen rd Just south of Pennsylvania.

Just a few places I know since I live in the detroit metro area...

Hope these places help you out....
I do know that taylor auto Salvage has a few Montes you could check out.

The people before you probably threw themselves into the seat... leather likes to tear easily when abused.

You can go to yards and get 2 whole seats probably for $100-150 if that's the route you want to go.
