come to find out, my car can get loud enough to annoy the hell out of me. yesterday on the highway, my car went from quite to loud and i figured that it was the resonator that had come disconnected... put it up on the lift and sure enough it was so i took off the resonator and now the exhaust is shooting straight out of the Ubend. Its too loud obviously and the vibrating cabin is not my liking so im going to fix it tomorrow. anyway Im going to run a straight pipe from the Ubend to the Y and I just wanted to make sure the piping is 2 1/2 inches diameter?? or 2 1/4

Your best bet is to measure the pipe for the proper size...Then youll know!

 

Personally, I'd go with a glass pack... 16 to 18 inches instead of just piping it.

 

haha i did measure it to be 2 1/4 and i thought about a glass pack but i feel like that would make it more of ahigh pitched sound than a grumble

 

If it's the stock exhaust it's 2 1/4" - some of the aftermarket cat backs are 2.5" like my SLP that was on my 05 SS.

 

I have a 30" Magnaflow glasspack in place of the resonator with stock mufflers on my '03 and really like the exhaust note. It's slightly louder at idle with a mellow tone. It sounds good during acceleration and no drone at cruising speeds.
