Default My F-150 update thread, yes ik its a Ford loo

So I thought I'd update you all on my 2000 Ford F-150 XLT. I purchased it in January 2012 if memory serves me correct from a local dealr-Wilbur Ford , which my grandparents know the owner of (tommy Thompson) Anyway I got it for $7,900. Still owe $3,900 on it lol. It was a one owner truck from farmersburg Iowa originally purchased in Postville Iowa. The guy was an older gentalman who used it a far car of sorts. Basically instead of using it like a farm truck he drove it to church and into town to pick up feed, little things like that. Anyway I got it with 65,005 original miles. It now has 69,650 miles. Anyway some things done to it are as list:
-DeeZee Toolbox
-Cb antennas (4ft I think) -still need to get my CB
-Rhino lined bottom panels of the truck professionally done
-LED tailgate bar
-Aftermarket tail lights
and that was about it until now...my most recent (done today) mod was to fix the rust on the inside bottom of the doors and protect the door sills from rust (pictures will be attached I ddi not get a lot as daylight was working against me)
First step was to get the supplies. This is what I used: Sandpaper, roll on bedliner kit from Duplicolor (came with a cheap plastic container to pour liner in, a roller, a scuf pad and a brush), One quart of Hurculiner roll on/brush on bedliner, masking tape, some towels you're willing to ruin, and of course a cleaner and a rag of your choice to clean the surface you wish to bedliner. So my first step was to clean the surface. Step 2 I masked of the ares (as you can see in the pictures I need to even out some of the lines which will be doen tomorrow). Step 3 after masking off the areas was to sand down the area you wish to apply the liner to. The scuf pad provided with the kit didnt do much so i used some sand paper and scuffed it up nice and good. Step 4 is applying the liner, I chose to use the brush because it was such small areas and it came out nicely i thought. Be sure to spread it nicely since it does like to run and drip if applied to thickly. Step 5 is to remove your tape and see how it went. On teh can of liner it says to remove it once finished getting a coat on but i let it halfway dry so i wasnt peeling the liner off areas i wanted coverd. And of course if you're messy like me wear gloves! I didnt think of doing it and ende dup spend and hour and a half cleaning liner of a ring my fiance gave me she was not happy. Anyway heres the pics.

Thanks man! I'm just hoping it holds up long enough for me to save up for a F-250 don't really need a disel model but would love a cummins or a powerstorke. Either way though I'd like to get a F-250 weathers its a v8. v10 or diesel. Trucks also 12.5 years old so you have to expect so wear and tear even though the miles arn't terrible.

Thanks man! Lol I've had wayyy too many vehicles in the past. in 2010 I use to have 3 for about that whole year. It was too much at the time for me since I was living at my dads and it was hard to keep my 3 and his 2 in the dirveway space lol. But I've had at least 2 cars at all tims since I was 19 so since about 2009. Can't wait until the loans paid off lol

i don't care for the tails if it was me i'd probably tint them but maybe one coat of the black to give it a smoked look and then finish with the red and then clearcoat

I kinda failed last time I tried tinting tails which is y I ended up with them. I wanted something with a black backround and clear lens. I don't care for che chrome part but I like the way it lights up at night. I still kepy my blacked out tails for when the truck goes to truck crusies and mud bogs lol
