Damn, that's unfortunate, guess we'll have to wait awile more. Anyone have any good ideas for making a FWI? If I was talked through how it would be done I would try it on my car. That is if I ever get any time.

 

Yeah that kind of sucks, but atleast they are working with ya until it fits. Keep us posted. I'm also thinking about building my own, if one doesn't come out soon. The CAIintake box and filter from MPD will fit the guyfrom there says. Then I would just get better piping to go from the throttle body toMAF.

 

does k&n make a cold air intake for the 06&07 SS?if so,i wonder what kind of fit that intake would be on the 3.9

 

Yes, they do make one for the SS, but I don't know if anyone has asked them about fitting it on a 3.9 or 3.5. Might be worth looking into.

who will stand up first and make a CAI for the 3.9 monte carlo? who ever does stands too make a lot of money.I don't understand it,so many of us went too,ask and even called .it's like no one gives a s-it. K&N makes one hell of a product,it can not cost them that much to make one. MAKE IT AND WE WILL COME. THANK YOU....

 

I would love to add a CAI for my 06 2LT monte. If one was devloped I would definately go in on a group buy. Heck, I'd even pay full price if I could be garanteed a unit that fit my car.

actually.. it could be just the members of this forum... everyone else with a 3.9 may not care. i believe it is mostly in minivans and the impala.. not very modded cars. the 3.8 went in Camaro's, Firebirds, Monte's.... all of these cars are generally owned by younger people who are more into modding their cars.... plus, its been around many many years.

I know right, what kind of person wouldn't want a CAI in there mini van, lol. This is what I'm think about doing now. Buying the K&N intake for the SS, like I posted the link above and just making a heat shield myself like 2000_BLACK_SS(Luke) did. He has a complete write up in the do it yourself part.
