resinator on 2002

Question resinator on 2002

Started to rattle buddy says to cut and weld stright pipe in its place. Sound ok to do? Thanks for any help.

I've done that with my cat and the only difference is a bit of rasp at really high rpms.the res will change the sound of the car and cause drone inside the car

Take the heat shield off the top of it. That might be your rattle.

I was blowing baffles in aftermarket resenators. It after the second or 3rd res in like 10,000 miles, I had the shop replace it with a piece of pipe. In my case, I have ZERO regrets!!

thats what im doing as well, having my res cut out and having a stainless pipe put in there with dual magnaflow mufflers.

Why stainless if the rest of the exhaust will be mild steel?

Seems like you may be spending more than it's worth, unless you plan to go the whole exhaust stainless, then were talking good stuff haha

X2... Although some rasp and drone will set in at about 3000rpm... I deleted mine, and have never looked back... Good luck,

mine is sometimes raspy but res gone / u bend is gone / hi flow cat

yep when i have my magnaflow put on he is putting all new stainless pipe in there.
