I recall when my resenator rotted at the seem. You may want to consider the GMPP Exhaust (which Chibi mentioned is now discountinued, but Summit Racing still has inventory of it).

I found a shop that was able to swap out my bad resenator and put a good one on the car for me, but I was coming REAL close to just having it replaced with a piece of pipe (prices where insane for just replacing the resenator, I had shops quoting $200-$300, that is nuts, if I was going to spend that much, I should go for the GMPP exhaust).

too bad youre in mi or id tell you to come pick up my factory resonator. i have it in the shed at my parents house only has 15000 miles on it. i agree with the above statement might be the time to buy that exhaust before its gone.

x3, when my resonator cracked I couldn't stand the sound in my cabin and that's when I purchased and installed the GMPP

I'm waiting for a Flip Video Camera to come in, I should be able to get a sound clip when I get it. (It was free when my parents bought new tires, like a rebate thing, so I'm getting it sometime haha)

To install you just unbolt 2 bolts, and remove the old exhaust from the hangers. Then you can piece it together and clamp it all shut. Or you can take it to an exhaust shop and have them install and weld it up, should take them about an hour

I clamped mine, tightened as much as humanly possible, then went for a drive (heat everything up), then tightened much more. Been on like that since and no leaks.
