I saw this over at LS1TECH.com

It was posted in the LS4 section so I thought I would try it out. If you take the top portion of your airbox off you will see an intake tube measuring about 60mm. If you remove this intake tube it opens up to about 80mm. Lets alot more air in. You can hear and feel the difference. Probably only good for a few HP, but a worthwhile free mod.

Visually once done, there is nothing different to the eye.Just take the top of the airbox off. Put it on a table and you will see a tube in there. Remove the tube and put back in. Simple as that. Just makes the opening Bigger!

yeah take off the air box, and then on the cover...thiers a tube.....some rubber thing haha, just remove that...and then it makes the stock intake bigger....i did that with the stock intake i took out of my ride haha...just to see, i just installed my K&N intake yesterday so..yeah i dont have a camera for pictures yet tho

 

I took of my airbox and all i saw was a circular screen with holes in it. Is that what you guys are talking about??? I am so confused i got all the parts taken off to find nothing of what you guys are talking about if anyone could tell in more detail or show a pic that would be great thanks!!

 

or you can cheat even more, take a saw and cut the bottom of the box up or do like we did on another one get a hole saw that has a 2.5 inch dia. and then punch holes in it.
it dose not have to suck air only threw that tube opening to make a diffrence for you. it can be anbywhere in the box to make and feel a diffrence.

or just do a serch here and look for Air box mods or CAI stuff you can find tons of info on it and what i have done with mine and others also.

Thanks, I removed mine also. If you open up the air box and look at the front of it from the inside, you will see a tube that protrudes from the inside to the outsideof the airbox. Just give a little tug and twist and the whole tube will come out, it just snaps into place. Then you will have an arched opening where the tube was. Sorry I don't have any pictures.
