Try to avoid driving in heavy rain storms / build a cover that you can pop into there on those rainy days.

On F-Bodies we have "ram air" kits that put a box down in front of the bumper and they have magnetic strips to cover it if you have to drive in a rain storm, you should try to build the same for that hole.

X2 That filter is extremely exposed to water/rain.

Did you take the fog light out for just the picture or do you always run it like this? I could understand maybe for a quick run or something but for everyday driving you're probably best of to just have the fog light in if you use them.

I took them out for good. they were broken and I never use them. I havent had any problems so far even in the rain. But its probably going to change soon to a ram air kit.

That is technically "ram air" right now since the air flows directly onto the filter haha

o my, good concept but that is way to exposed to rain/water. its ok to have the filter behind the bumber but it needs to be tucked some place where water wont directly be hitting it or splashing on it. i wouldnt be surprised if you hydro-lock your engine if you keep it there for any long periods of time while in rain/water.....

Yea I guess it is technically a ram air already but. lol. But I'm getting a ram air hood. And I drove it in rain for a a week straight and had no problems. Its set back a little bit from the openning. In the picture it looks like it right there but its back about half a foot or so. and have a sheild on the bottom of it so no water splashes up from underneath. And when I chacked it after driving it was even wet only one part had a small damp section.

It's a little low down for my taste but if you keep an eye on it. Just dont hit any big puddles on accident because your engine has a big straw attached to it.

looks alright, you did just say it was a little damp, sounds like trouble to me...

your first issue with something like this will be a big issue, like hydrolocking the engine

Instead of having the filter down so low. How about putting the filter back were it belongs and run the pipe to the filter from the fog light housing? This would lesson the chances for water build up and it would be easier to keep an eye on. How about running a fender wall pipe instead of the fog light hole. Just some ideas. I would hate to see you lock that motor up. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />
