Default k&n CAI?

they always give how much hp the CAI gives our montes but how much torque does it gives us. I even called them and they could not give them. I even called them and they said they dont test torque. If so then why does the ad say increases hp and torque

Hi `T.J.,
You must have talked to an employee that didn't know or
didn't care. I'm sure if you email K&N with your
question, they will respond.
They are one of our Sponsor's.
Good Luck, `Space

K&N users would probably be surprised by the amount of air filtration testing and scientific research that goes on in K&N facilities as well as in independent laboratories. As the leader and originator of the high flow performance air filter we are always looking for new ways to provide excellent protection and maximum power for your car, truck, motorcycle, and just about anything else with an engine. In 2005 more than 1600 vehicles were tested by K&N's R&D group on dynamometers in the US, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. In addition to these power and torque tests, we also performed more than 110 filtration tests and more than 1,200 air flow tests with our in-house state-of-the-art test equipment. Select one of the links below to read or listen to more information on air filters and the science behind their design and function.

I looked around but didnt see any helpful figures... a call to an experienced operator at k&n would help you out a lot faster. you probably got a new person, and, well, hopefully dont get them again.

Don't they post a pretty unrealistic power gain for the hp anyways? I wonder if they even actually dyno test every intake they make- they may just run it through a computer sim or something to generate those #s.

I honestly think it is a computer sim. I know I read a post on ClubGP a few years back and the Wizaired had a3 hp gain over the KN system. But on the otherhand I really think they do get each vehicle in to design a CAI for it and don't just go off blueprints. If they have it in the shop to do all the research and design I would have to beleive they would throw it on a dyno as well...
