Intake project I am working on
be mind full of the fly by wire set up of the throttle body that could hinder things. I know you got this far but to have that hem every thing would be a downer. I hope you got that buttoned up for start up and drive aspect. I would like to see every thing come in to place with a pic. I was just pointing that out. because it is some thing that stopped me in swapping the same motor that you have in your monte in mine. if our cars came with throttle cables instead of fly by wire it would have been done.
The intake was a drive by wire setup on what It came off and my car is also drive by wire. Nothing else can really stand in my way. I'll need tuning if I decide to go with a bigger tb than stock but everything will bolt right up.
sweet project! cant wait to see more progress!!
not sure how or if this will work for you but i have my stock cts-v tb in the garage im trying to sell over on the cadillac forums. i went with a ported ls7 and it bolted right up to my snout and plugged right in. i know you mentioned the ls7 tb and if that works for you i think the lsa tb should as well...

Is it a gold blade or silver blade? I am assuming it is 6 pin like most of them are. Otherwise it should be about the same. I can only use a silver blade TB though.
I didn't take a picture of my alternator bracket before cutting it but I will try to get a side by side of the one in the car to compare. I cut a ton off.

This is a very cool and tatally original project! I can't wait to see it finished. When this is done, everyone with a V8 Monte is gonna want one. You could probably even make a few bucks if you wanted too. Not many has the skills, patience, courage and know how to do this

I know some will need some help with the bracket if they go the way you did.
I know swapping the intake on my cougar woke it up with the better of the three intakes. I had to swap out and modify a little of the altinator bracket. I know some would like some help with there's and the spots where you put the apoxy on the intake. I hope to here the progress. when every thing gets buttoned up. I was not nocking about the throttle body didn't want you to over look some thing simple. because the time and work you put into it so far. I would like to see the perks of the time and work put in to pay off

Yeah that, was he hardest part so far. A lot of people swap ls6 or ls2 intakes in these. I wanted to be different. It is alot of work and I am sure there will be issues to work out along the way but I have been planning this out for 3 months atleast. The throttle body shouldn't be an issue they will pretty much directly plug in. I have not decided what direction I want to go with that yet though.
I think it needs re pinned and won't work with my xlink. I might just use stock for a bit until I decide what I am gonna do. I know for sure it is going to mocked up with my ls4 tb and maf. Depending on if I find a good deal on something will be the deciding factor. Trying to keep it cheap.
If I could find a truck throttle body to mess with I would try to get it to work though. Would be really different then .
