FWI/CAI Sound?
Sorry for asking sooo many questions recently but I really wanna learn.. Im thinking homemade FWI, im really good with tools and have a shop (no welder ) at my disposal. The thing i dont have is a boatload of cash. So im looking into making things like FWI... Ive read things on here about it sounding like a shop vac and annoying neighbors. Exactly what sound does one make? I cant seem to find a good clip online (can't youtube at work so maybe i will when I get home, just doing streetfire now). Is it this whining noise?

The sound in that video is a supercharger.
It's a very throaty sound at WOT, it's definitely not a wake the neighbor mod. When you first start the car it will sound louder for 1 minute, kind of just hear it sucking in the air.

do it!!
you will like the sound, i guarantee it. it's a deep throaty sound that is most noticeable at around 2000-2500 rpm and up at high load such as going up a hill or something. but it's not so loud the neighbors will hear. it's something you notice the most inside the car when you get into the throttle. you can get materials for a FWI pretty cheap and you don't need a welder or any special tools, just hand tools.
