funny i have a cold air intake for the mustang that vi have never had a heat issue with the intake it allways felt cold to the tuch only when it got hot is when waiting at a red light waiting to turn in to get my 7th gen monte still have the mustang use the monte as a primary but switch meatel is good never had a heat problem

Look in the plumbing department. Many use PVC or ABS for a rigid intake piping, and black sewer pipe for flexible intake.
Yeah, but the concern isn't necessarily the temperature of the intake tube itself- I'm assuming he has a short ram (SRI)/hot air intake- meaning the filter is just chillin in the engine bay.
It may feel cool with the hood open when you're touching it, but imagine when you close the hood- the filter is sucking a lot of its air from your radiator exit air coming from the fans, and also sucking heated air from off the exhaust crossover at lights w/ the fans off.
Actual IAT's are a usually good bit higher with a HAI compared to a FWI/CAI box.
