Default Cold Air Intake 98 z34

I have been looking for a cold air intake kit for my 98 Monte Carlo Z34 and have had no luck finding one. So my question is what would i need to buy to build a custom one .

Thanks

I found thesesource for aluminum tubing silicone hosewhen I built a CAI for my Firebird. Decide where you want to filter to be, then run the tube.

I made the mistake of buying a CAI for my 96 Z34 off Ebay, didn't do much more than wear a hole in the filter and AC drier.

your in luck. i havea 96 Z34.. our engine bays are the same.... here is the link to my site i have a complete writeup on how to build a cold air intake. aka FWI (fender well intake)

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/473859/6

these work just as well as any kit you can buy. the important thing is sealing the fender so hot engine bay heat doesnt leak in.

yup, your best bet is to make one yourself, i dont think anyone is making them, plus its cheap to make your own anyway

Thanks for all the info guys. Since i'm new to working on cars do you think it would be smarter for me to buy a hot air intake kit until i gain a little more knowlegde about what i'm doing. Also what could i mess up by trying a FWI?
