Any gains from gutting stock airbox?

Check out my pics, I got a few of them. All you need to do is go to a store that will let you return unused parts. Then buy alot of different piping and couplers. You'll have to drill into the piping and then use some of those rubber rings to hold the vac sensor and if you got the 3400, you'll need to make another hole to put the intake temp sensor. I forced a pipe into the stock elbow and used the holes that were in there and then just rapped it with some heat tape.

nice setup. i know how to pipe some cold air. i was just wondering what i could, if i could do, without spending money.
im going to miami in a few weeks for a dolphins game and then down to the keys for some scuba diving. a 4 day trip with hotels and rental. so im tryin to reserve the monies.

You'll make the car louder, but you still have a flat surface for the air, as opposed to the round cone which can suck in a good amount of air more freely.
And then you get the replacement hose that flows better also with your CAI kit

i cut the rectangle hole but i didnt remove the front of the box thats right behind the headlight like the second guy in the how to did and i didnt remove the tube that is connected to the piece behind the headlight.
