has your guys plastic windows double sided tape melt off? i went to do a check up on it and my plastic windows were gone!
noticed a difference in sound on mine this past weekend... when I opened the hood, my plastic windows were off too!! they had fallen into the air box and resting aon top of the air filter. I reattached them with some 3M double-sided foam tape - so far so good. I'm going to send CAI, Inc. an email now.

ok all... I just received an email from CAI, Inc - regarding the windows/tape coming off, and an intake tube...

"We are using 3M products to fix this issue. If you used 3M tape to reattach the windows they shouldn’t come back off.
In regards to the intake duct we suggest to use a 45* reducing silicone coupler."

So, there we have it.

This is the route I went:

http://groups.msn.com/MonteCarlosand...hoto&PhotoID=9

Total cost- about $45 for the K&N filter. Total time- about 20 minutes. Fits perfect, and I'm willing to bet it flows as much as any aftermarket system!

Time to revive this topic I was looking into the K&N Impala ss cai for my 06 monte ss, but almost all of the authorized K&N dealers i've talked to have said it won't fit. Thought the 06/07 monts and imps were almost identical at the front end. [&:] Any thoughts or suggestions?

i hear ya. i did the same thing the reson i made mine was i could not see the reason to spend that kind of money on something i was seeing issues with .
Not to mention i made mine for less then the cost of the unit i was looking at and it is a true fender well induction.

But i have to say it sounds like a vacum when first start it up in the Am. LOL
