? Will you store your Monte Carlo 4 Winter ?
Mine isn't a daily driver and garaged with a car cover when not in use. When the salt goes down, it won't come out till a hearty rain washes it away. That said, it can be the middle of January with mild weather bringing rain, I will drive the car like normal
Its not good to let a car sit... especially an old car like mine. At the very minimum, I will start the car twice a month and run it... revving it up to get the water out of the exhaust. Exercise the brakes, steering components, etc.

I store mine every winter. Normally I put it away mid Oct but I decided to push it this year. Mainly because my winter car is a Sentra and I hate it. Hopefully this doesn't offend anymore but I really don't feel like a man driving my Sentra, its embarrassing. But I continually remind myself this is why my Monte looks brand new still when its 6 years old. Also really keeps the mileage down. I plan on parking it next Friday (16th). It hasn't snowed yet here but were getting close. I have a double garage but I use it in the winter for my wife's car and the Sentra. This prevents me from brushing snow off it in the early mornings. I live near Ottawa Valley so the winters are nasty, plus they salt the roads if there's even a flake of snow in the air. My previous 2 Monte's had some rust issues that drove me crazy.
My last 3 cars (minus the Sentra) have been Monte Carlo's. Ya I like them !!! First was a 97' z34, then I traded that in on an 03' limited edition SS then I traded that in on my current 06. Still waiting on an 8th generation model please, gonna need to trade this one in a couple years!!!!
My dads garage is a 3 bay but their huge bays so you can actually fit 4 cars in it. The garage is fully insulated including the doors so it rarely goes under zero degrees. Normally its around 5 degrees celsius even on the really cold days. I tuck it tight against the far wall and he parks his 2012 Boss 302 about 6 inches beside it.
As for what I do to the car to "winterize" it, I wash it, put the battery on a tender and fill the tank with stabilizer. Thats pretty much it. Thinking of putting some pieces of rug under the tires not sure if thats necessary. As for putting the car on blocks, since the car isn't that old I don't think it necessary unless somebody here can prove me wrong ??? I don't bother with a cover because nobody goes near its only my father and mother living there.
Really hate this time of year, I plan on selling the winter beater next summer and getting a larger car to drive in the winters.
Bring on Spring 2013...

Unfortunately I won't be able to store it in the garage (even when I'm away at school and not using it). So I'll pick up a good car cover, do a little prep work, and keep it clean if/when I have to use it with salt around.
If I could store mine, it would be for a week, so I could drive my other car. I only have the Monte, so it is the year around car, but the weather is never that harsh. If I was to do so, I would store it in the garage, and cover it, use some bricks or something to hold down the cover. Take it out ever two weeks for a wipe down.
i just park it in the garage, gas it up to 1/2 tank, place thick vinyl flooring under the tires, place Bounce sheets inside the car, in the trunk and under the hood, and in the dash....rodents don't like the scent of Bounce ,,,did it all the time with the fifth-wheel trailer and take the neg. terminal off the battery. Periodically I'll put the battery on a trickle charge to keep it up. Depending on the winter weather conditions i'll run the dehumidifier if there's a lot of moisture in the garage
I wish I could store my Monte. Gotta have a second car for that. But I found a set of 17" rims at a good price. Chrome 5spoke. That will make it easier to deal with a possibly harsh winter. Here in Jersey you never know what winter will bring. Only $400 for the set. Used but in very good condition. That's what it would cost to have the 22s repaired. The other winterizing stuff I'll do at the end of the month. Then it's just a matter of watching Everything on the road. Wish me luck! ;-)
Put her to sleep Friday night, still no snow here probably could have pushed it another week. Basically spent all afternoon detailing, freaking wheels take a long time. Filled the tank and added some stabilizer. I will probably connect the battery tender next week. Thats it till mid to late April. I really need to move down south !!!!
