Whipple status update
With summer cooling off a bit, and having a 4 day weekend coming soon where I can hopefully carve out a few hours to make some progress, I figured I'd update this page.
Only real new purchase lately was a set of TOG extreme headers. I was originally told they were TOG big dogs, but found out they were extremes when I got them. I'm still unsure if I'm going to keep them or not. I've already got the DPP headers polished up, header wrapped, and installed- but these are ceramic coated, have larger primaries, and much thicker flanges. If nothing else, I'll definitely clean them up to new this weekend. Still not sure what to do with EGR if I do keep them. I cut the excess flange off, and welded the tube closed on my DPPs. Not sure if I want to hassle with all that again. Came with a highflow cat that I'll need to cut off and sell since I've got a frozenboost "allflow" cat. Anyways, here they are:

Here is one of the last pictures I took before stopping work for the summer, I was test fitting the intake tract:

How she sits now:

The alternator is now fully mounted, both belts are installed and ready to go. The IC system is installed and filled, as is the engine cooling system. The gas tank is permanently installed, and a cover is finished for the hole in the trunk floor.
A few main projects left:
-Mount the FPR and run lines to it from the fuel rails (probably going to go on the passenger side strut tower)
-Mount fuel filters and run lines from tank to rails
-Fab bracket for TB cable
-Find a shop to weld TB adapter to be able to mount bypass valve (the last shop sat on it for more than a month and pushed it out 3x- I finally went and got it back).
-Rebuild axles
-Finish electrical - mainly wiring up new IC fans, the fuel pump controller, and the IC pump into the cabin
-Fab mount for catch cans and run hose to valve covers / intake
-Header swap?
Hopefully I'll at least get it out on the road by the end of the year. We'll see if my schedule cooperates!

Gas tank is a Napa replacement for my year - 96 monte carlo LS. Crazy thing is, my fill neck was rusted out pretty bad and the cost of a fill neck is almost identical to a whole gas tank!
Fill neck fit great, gas tank was only so-so. I had to do some hammering on the edge lip and a few other minor mods to make it fit. Definitely glad I did it as the top side of my stock gas tank was pretty rusty.
Radiator is from a 96 Z34. That's what the GP guys used to order as their 1.25" upgrade radiator. As many have found out, it's only just a hair over an inch now (despite still being called a 1.25"). I wish I would've got the ZZP radiator, since I was already half the cost into it. I think this radiator will do just fine- I deleted AC, and have improved ducting to the radiator. I'm also running a drilled 180* thermostat and the HD meziere pump. I'm not real worried about overheating- I won't be driving it in the middle of the summer anyways with no AC.
Honestly, I ran the factory (1/2"-5/8" thick core) for years with the L67 back in Indiana and never had a problem overheating- so it should be just fine with the upgrade.

No problem. If you go into the FAQs, this and a few other things are explained. Welcome to MCF, look forward to learning about you and your ride (given your user name, I'm guessing it's a Grand Prix).
