Whipple status update

Thank you and yes it is. Currently a whipple project with a built bottom end on a slp gtx. Just having trouble with sourcing parts.
Mainly needed help and advice on how to get the bbv functional and as far as sourcing parts and 8 rib pulleys.
I have the animul performance tb and adapter plate for the whipple. But as you may know require modification to make perfect as well as a intercooler.
No big deal, the thread was pretty dead anyways. I've been a bit behind on updating it.
Which parts are you having a hard time finding?
As far as the bbv and 8 rib pullies, I don't know if I'll be able to be much help to you. I run a Yella Terra IC / lower adapter, and thus also the Yella Terra snout to get everything lined back up correctly.
Therefore, I was able to just buy shelf stock Yella Terra 8 rib pullies in any of the numerous diameters they sell. I just took a look at a YT pulley vs the stock pulley/snout and I don't think you'd be able to use them. The YT pulley is recessed deeper over the snout, and the machined pocket on the pulley is almost 1" smaller than the stock snout- so it would never fit over it.
I'm not real sure what to tell you here, especially not knowing what the stock pulley is normally used for. Perhaps you could go to one of the custom pulley places- send them your current pulley so they can measure backspacing and such, and just ask for them to make an 8 rib version of a different size. I'm sure there is probably some whipple kit you could buy a pulley for, but without being able to get all of the critical dimensions from the new pulley, I don't know how you could ever guess which one would work.
As far as the bypass valve- which style do you have now? As far as I know, 2 versions were made- one was a fully external turbo bypass valve style which is what I used to have and is terrible. The other was a built in blade style bypass which worked better but needed modification. If you have the second one, you may be able to modify it to work. If you have the first, you'll have to start from scratch.

I can't mount it on the opposite side because I've got my LS style TB mounted straight up instead of flipped - so my throttle cable goes through there. Also, there isn't sufficient clearance for me on the bottom since the YT IC bypass connector is right there.
Then all I've got to do is connect the 1.75" pipe from the side of my tb adapter/bypass to the other end under my IC (the YT one is right beneath the TB adapter- yours is along the backside of the adapter).
The bypass valves can be purchased straight from whipple. Just give them a call. IIRC it was like $300-400 with the actuator.
I guess my main concern is making the bbv fully functional correctly with the boost.
I will be getting a custom bar and plate intercooler done between 2 to 3 inches on the core height itself.
Custom tb housing for a 102mm tb setup as well. And figuring out the pulleys and hope that is all.

Only hard part will be finding a suitable area to mount it which could take some minor cutting/welding of your TB adapter or lower adapter- whichever is easier.
IMO, it's not possible with your current bbv to make it function properly. If you buy the whipple bbv setup, it's literally no different than the factory eaton bypass. Only difference is the blade is now in a separate housing instead of built into the SC case. Vacuum hookup and function is identical.

Yes definetly. It seems very possible and things are moving along. The heads just got done and ordered my 102mm tb soon my 100mm maf and getting my tb housing done for a 102 tb.
Would the bbv that you bought from whipple be the best one to get?
I am sure I can figure something out with the tb and bbv. But where would I connect the other end of it?
Hard to say as I don't have a lot of experience with different types. The only ones I've owned are the stock built in eaton, the crappy Animul one, and the whipple one.
I liked the whipple unit because it is a quality piece used on numerous whipple kits, the size matched the size on my IC, and I had a spot to mount it to.
I'm sure there are others out there that would work too. Just a quick google search found a couple other potential options:

That's supposedly a 02-07 mini cooper bypass valve. It's cheap- only like $100, but I have no idea the scale of it. I'd make sure the butterfly is of decent size before buying one.

It's a bypass valve for a centrifugal supercharger. This would be nice because you could theoretically use your current connections at the TB adapter and lower adapter, and just replace your current valve with this.
Again, I'm not sure what size the valve is either. Also, being designed for a CSC, I'm not sure how well it would work out of the box. The operation should be similar, but you'd need to research more first.
You would connect it exactly where your current valve connects to- the big metal tube on the back of the lower adapter. Here is a picture of the parts you should have:

You can see the outlet of the BBV where it runs the tube to the lower adapter.
