Default Want the right cover for outdoor storage?

So, this topic has been discussed a few times and I learned today I did some accidental product testing!

For those of us that store our summer toys outside, I have spoke highly of the CoverCraft (formally Wolfe Automotive) Noah Fabric custom fit covers.

No bull, they really are water resistant and allow the car to breath. Today, I was prepping the Monte for summer use, I don't know how I missed this when I stored the Monte, but apparently I left the passenger side window down ALL WINTER! The Monte sits infront of the garage, it's not sheltered from the elements other then my Noah fabric cover (so all the heavy snow and a couple horrible and hard rain storms)! I freaked when I found this out.

Good news, ZERO, I mean ZERO sign of water damage! No water streaks, nothing wet, no mildew, no mold. Based on this little accident, how can I NOT rave about this cover.

Not that I plan to make that mistake again, but I'll say this, I'm happy as heck that the cover held up!!

How much does one go for? I'd it a real process setting it up?

This does sound like a really good car cover.

From Jason's recommendation last year, I picked this up.

I can say it is a great cover! Although my Monte had a little bit of EXTRA protection besides just the cover this winter.

Jason:
That sounds like the kind of cover I need to store the sierra in...

Good to know it did its job as expected.

Thanks for the heads up!

When I bought the cover (under the Wolfe Automotive brand) it was about $180 shipped, that was in fall of 2008. I had it replaced under warranty once (he a hole in an odd spot), the warranty was handled by CoverCraft. The new one fits a TON better then the first one (clearly, they revised it's fitment). I admit, I looked at the cost of replacing the cover before I knew it was still under warranty. At that time replacement cost was about $300!!!

So I hope my accidental product testing helps others believe in this cover as well as I do. Again, it's the Noah fabric (which is intended for the harsh elements).

@Dub - as far as "setup", really isn't much to setup. Clean the car, park it where you want it, cover it. They sell an optional lock and cable kit (runs a cable under the car, in case the cover flies off in high winds, it won't clear the car. With the updated design from CoverCraft, I have yet to have the cover fly off in our high winds.

Since I park in a public parking lot, I use the lock.

I picked mine up from Amazon for $225

I have been buying Evolution 4 covers because of better dent protection and IMO hold up better over the years. I have bought 4 of these covers Monte Carlo, 05 Mustang, 06 Mini Cooper & 12-14 Mustang. I still have my original Noah cover for my Monte but it's so thin. My fiance bought an Evolution 4 for his 06 Mini Cooper and it still looks brand new after all these years and have lived outside most of it's life including surviving this past horrible winter.

On the plus side, where I park my Monte (and my wife's Mustang), we don't have to worry about dent issues. And during the summer, we are unable to cover the cars due to some flying bugs we get around us because we are so close to the Lake (the bugs crawl under the cover and die, I learned that lesson once, never again).

If anything happens to dent the cars, we have bigger issues that a cover would not have protected against.

Hopefully in a year or two, outdoor storage will become a thing of the past for my wife and I.
