Default VALUE '88 Monte SS????

Trying to buy an '88 SS with t-tops, full power, etc. Car as 125,000 miles on it, and is in "good" condition. Not perfect. He wants $6,800 I say it's worth $6,000. What do you guys think a fair price is. All original.

That's about the going rate for one these days if it's in good condition. I would seriously question that $$$$ with it having 125K though... Have you seen it in person?

I have not seen it in person. However I would not buy it until I am able to. It's about a 4 hour drive from me, so I don't want to waste my time until we can get a fair price agreed upon. I'm waiting for him to get me some more pics of the car as well.

I'm looking for a straight car. Future plans include and engine swap, so that's not a huge concern for me.

But I see other '88 Montes going for around $5k or so on Ebay that are in pretty good condition. So I'm not sure what to offer him.

I would jump off at 5K and see what happens.. Most people when they sell a used car are asking for more than they think they will end up getting.

Got the pics. Car looks great, except it's a bench seat. I need the shifter on the console. I want to build a street rod. And so the search continues....

Yeah I was gonna start at $5k. This will be my 3rd Monte, so I'm pretty good at getting the right value, but it's just been a few years since I've looked. Wanted to make sure I wasn't too far off base. Thanks for your help.
