My issue is the first body shop (which i took a referral from my insurance agent) did not knock it out of the park. Lots of little things that I am far from happy with. After about 4-5 issues with this shop, I told my agent, I have to go else where. I cannot keep doing this. The car is in the hands of a different shop that I have a better warm and fuzzy will impress me with their finished product.

thats great maniac, the shop that USAA referred me to is highly renowned in the area so I have a good feeling about their quality of work. It sounds like your nightmare is almost over too

From the pics it looks like your windshield was cracked too at the bottom left?? I hope you get her fixed back up properly. I too have had trouble with crappy body shops recently. They seem to be terrible down here in GA. Had to bring mine back a few times also for stuff not up to par.

Hi `Zell, thanks for sharing your sad pictures It's great that the insurance company is covering your loss & that you found a good body shop to bring your Monte Carlo back into top shape (Don't settle for less)...Look forward to your updates...What rental did you decide on ?

that sucks Zell. Glad to hear everything will be taken of to get your car fixed, but still never a good day when something like that happens

Very sorry to hear about the incident...

I too have usaa insurance and they always pay for new parts, so be aware of the shop using old parts.

Also, I would express concern to the repair shop that the paint matches perfectly. Red is a hard color to match, so don't accept the car if it is not fixed to your liking. Let them know in advance that the paint matching is a concern.

I had to take my SS back to a usaa recommended shop (Gerber Collision - Never again) 3 times before it was finished to my standards...usaa does include a lifetime warranty on the repairs, which is very comforting to know.

At least your ok. People just don't pay attention to anything anymore. It's a shame. I don't know of anyone who gets into a car and reverses without looking. That sounds like something that happens on a sitcom. But this isn't funny.

@space: went to get the rental on Friday, they wound up not having any mid sized sedans so I thought I would give the 2013 Silverado LT a shot. handled very smoothly, took the girlfriend out to Disneyland for her birthday Im on the bottom right
