Today my monte was violated...
Today the unthinkable happened...
today is supposed to be a wonderfull day, today is my nephew Kaleb's 9th birthday, as well as my parents 30th anniversary... Today will ALSO be the day we remember that scumbag Steve who backed up into my car today at the country store without even looking behind him before he backed up!!!
My car will be in for repairs tomorrow but basically im faced with replacing the drivers side fender and some minor damage to the left side skirt, door, and mirror. Not enough to total the car,id like to think My car is invincible like Kavinsky's Testarossa.

Hi `Zell,
Sorry to read your words about what happened. Wish you a great shop to do the repairs...Do you have any pic's of the damage ?
It's sad that there are those that drive that should not 4-Sure...
Good Luck

exact same thing almost happened to me a few weeks ago. however I think the guy was just being a smart *** and barely missed backing into it on purpose. some people just don't like to see other people have nice things that they earned and put a lot of work into getting or buying. not suggesting this is what happened to you but for me driving a car that was or is wrecked, that you truly love stinksssssssssssssssssssssssss! I wish you and the monte a speedy recovery!

Zell, I can relate. I'm still dealing with issues on my Monte from a hit-n-run late June. But I think I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on these issues.
Find a great body shop and hopefully they will take great care of your Monte!

@joey: I think this was a full blown case of not paying attention considering i got out of the car, walked up to him and said: "well, unless you feel like waiting for the military police do you want to just admit that it was your fault?" and he said "ya, ya, i accept responsibility.." I dont think he was a Marine... maybe either a dependent or someone who worked at the store on base. He seemed really scared when he was giving me his info (hope he doesnt have a high deductable!) allstate just called letting me know that they accept full responsibility for the accident (Im not paying a dime) the auto body shop I went to today plans on replacing my door shell, full fender, left side skirt, left rear view mirror, paint and labor comes to a grand total of!....
*drum roll*
$1833.03!
I plan on being back on the road in about 1 week until then I will have to settle for a dodge charger or chevy malibu as a rental option
@Maniac: When I had a hit and run in Anaheim 2 years ago in my grand prix I was IN THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENED. the two gentleman in the car got out and ran away, I had lisence plate numbers, make and model, and the police did NOTHING them and the insurance company (geico at the time, am now a proud USAA member) pretty much told me because of my comprehensive coverage deductable they would not cover the accident.. so my prayers go out to you, I think hit and runs are a huge loophole in the insurance companies and too many people are getting away with jacking up peoples car's and it sickens me so HOPEFULLY that scumbag finds justice.
On another note tadcaster here are the pictures from the accident:
