Didn' they come from the factory 5% tint? They call it anti glare, I had mine Monte done 35% all the way around and they are dark enough to make it look good and still not get bother by the police.
I had my Malibu SS 25% tint and had to get it off to pass inspection, to dark with the meter they use. so now i got 35% on it and it is not that much difference in it..

2quick4u, mine does have some tint to the window, kinda greenish. I'm wondering what that's going to do to the tint, color and darkness wise. We've had all of our other vehicles tinted but they started out as clear glass to begin with. I'm going to take it to the same place we had those done and talk with them about it.
Taz, make sure you get the tint with the lifetime warranty (we've never had any problems with that one). My mother in law had her "granny" car tinted with the three year stuff and that's about how long it lasted. It has light colored streaks in it and has only been cleaned with the cleaner they gave her - no windex per instructions.

honestly i have had tinted windows on almost everything i have owned.

I would not recomend the %5 on the rear glass. go with 20% on it and the sides and you will like it . it is dark enough that you cant see threw it in the day light or at night but not so dark you cant see threw it from the inside to drive. just my .02

Thanks for the great advice Becky. All my previous cars were tinted by a local custom detailing shop that has an excellent reputation, and I never had any problems with them. Like I mentioned, the tint on my Monte is cheap stuff the dealership put on. In the spring, I'm getting the 4 side windows peeled and redone by the place I usually goto. I'm getting 20% put on. The rear window is gonna have to stay, because of the rear defogger.

I'm going to get mine tinted too after Christmas (hoping Santa does it for me, LOL). I'll probably get what we have on the truck which is 35 and 20, I think. I like the darker but I have a hard enough time seeing at night. I think, legally, here 35 on the sides is as dark as you can go, but I think the back is fair game for anything.
This is a good website for checking tint laws in all 50 states: http://www.tintlaws.com/

Hawaii State Law is 20% all around. They also do yearly "Safety Inspections" After looking for a "good" inspection station for a couple fo years I had all of mine removed and replaced. I went with 20% but alos got the very slighlty reflective.

This was a good trade off for the fact the I'm legal but the slight reflective increases the rpivacy a bit more as well and still looks good.
