Stupid day-Rant
They do it in WI too. Never had a real problem with it. I just asked to have them taken off and they did so.
I wouldn't complain too loudly to the dealership that did it though. It's pretty hard to find good mechanics out there and the last thing you want to do is **** them off. Thats how you end up with repacing fuel pumps when the filter is the problem if you know what I mean.
I'd just bring it in, explain you didn't want the sticker on the car and ask them to clean it.

No dealer stickers here in Oregon as far as I know. I haven't seen any. My mom's 07 Monte and my grandpa's '00 Monte didn't have dealer stickers. We just do the license plate frames. My 76 had them when my grandpa gave me the car. They'd been on there since 1978 (long gone), my grandpa's '00 Monte had them up until I got him a pair of chrome "Monte Carlo" license plate frames from PFYC.com, my mom had dealer frames when she got her '07. My grandma's 78 Caprice use to have them too.
I'm in Oregon also and I think it mainly depends on the dealer. I see them every once in a while, mainly onthe Fords. When we bought the F-250 they put a dealer sticker on it. But when we bought the Grand Prix (Pontiiac dealer)and the Monte (Chevy dealer)they didn't put stickers on them although they did have the license plate frames.
Next time you have the oil changed at the dealer, just tell them that even though you appreciate their thoughtfulness that you might forget where you bought the car, please don't put a sticker on it, just give me your business card.

I spoke to the dealership, they said that every now and then they look at the cars they know came from their lot, to check for the stickers. I had already removed the decals, and cleaned the sticky residue off the car. But I told them not to bother putting anymore decals on in the future. as they would promtly be removed. I like the car as it is. I still just dont get why all the dealers think they have to put these things on the cars. Like I said growing up in CA I never seen them out there, only in the midwest have I noticed them. I mean how many people have decided where to buy a car because of one of these dealer stickers????
Mike.

i think its more for the "brainwashing" effect. if your looking at a few hot cars and all of them came from the same dealership (if they keep the stickers on), you might go glance to see what else they have. personally, ive left mine on because its not worth it to remove yet. mines not where I want to to be for looks, so I might as well keep my friends at the dealership happy for a little longer.
