Not as good a warranty as OEM parts. NEVER aftermarket on my car.

Keep your car long enough and aftermarket is all you'll find. The OE stuff will dry up and no dealer will be able to locate what's needed.

1200 bucks on parts that cost less than 100 bucks for everything...i wish i could make that much money on parts..would be able to close for the day after 1 sale!
But then you would run off all your business.

That may be true RJ but I did recently restore an 86 cutlass and purchased all OEM GM parts for it. Never used an aftermarket part on it. It fetched a higher price time for resale too because that's the first thing the buyer asked me.....did you restore with all OEM GM. It's just my .02 worth really. I don't like or trust alot of aftermarket stuff. Sure it may be just as good or better but until they can prove it I'll stay with my OEM parts.

Just wait until Cain finds out the reason why he is getting wholesell prices on the parts......

The dealership has gotten most of the parts from aftermarket places

thats usually what happens...the dealers here call all the time..ask for cheap parts and push them off as ac delco parts...and they mark them up about 500%

A vast majority of OEM parts and aftermarket parts are made by the same companies and are the same parts in a different package and label. Most of the parts on any manufacture product is not manufactured by them but a huge chain of part suppliers. Those suppliers use the R&D of the auto manufacture to produce an aftermarket line with slight modifications to avoid patent issues. I see it everyday, I work for Cat, as a component lab tech and spend a lot of time validating a supplier product for use in production equipment.

So much for OEM parts. I have had 2 OEM components fail on my '06 MC within the first 4,000 miles.

Being an importer of baseball equipment, I tend to believe bilms01.

I can buy anything made in China forother major comapniesand put my company name on it and sell it direct for 50% less.

I can't imagine that GM/ACDelco makes 100% of their own parts, much less any other American company.

Anyone see "Made in America" with Cliff from Cheers. Outside of crayons and candies, very few things are exclusively manufactured anymore by and for American companies.
