Revised Mod plan for N/A 3800
#25
sorry, shoulda said this in the last post, but if your going for longevity, stay away from the shift kits, especially if your planning on doing a canned pcm. i've read and heard that they dont neccessarily go hand in hand. do one or the other, but not both. personally, i'd stick with just the pcm (basically gives you all the benefits you'll see from the shift kit anyways)

So even a mechanical shift kit with spacers is bad? When I get my car custom tuned I can keep the shift line pressure increase out, or I can specially order it from ZZP that way, but if you think it's really going to hurt the tranny I'll stay away from it, that'll be over $50 saved right there.

I watched your posted video like 10 times, I really like the sound of your Monte in the cabin, sounds recognizable, but you can tell that the engine is breathing better, sounds more aggressive. What do you think of CAT back exhausts? You've never suggested those. I've read up about them a little and found that the loss in low-end torque is sort of substantial, up to 10 lbs lost in the lower RPM band...although you supposedly gain that back in higher RPM's. I've read that the biggest HP boost you'll get is about 10, and that's being optimistic, but is this not suggested, not worth it?
