the gm at the dealer said the after market cold air intake we dont supply and install we have the right to cut off any thing to correctly fix the car. unfortunatly your car is fixed the bcm is new we refuse to replace any thing unless it is factory. i know now not to go to that paticular dealler. i went to anouther to get one of the head light clips to put back on the head light. a gm rep was there i asked him ans showed him what that one dealer did. he informed me was that paticular dealer is not ordering cars to sell it seemed to him when he looked up that dealler they are going out of buisness. the cia i had and cold air inductions. they perfer to be on the car for a proper intake for a aftermarket type. what i took from it they perfer a type that can hold every thing to gether as in has a tray for the pcm and the tcm. thats the impression i got. the dealer i went to was also asking about getting or being able to supply a aftermarket intake like i had for the comaro and some of the models. for the ones who rather have some one to install and make sure every thing is together corectly. the dealer i was at when i talked to the rep was regal chevy they seemed to be willing to make the custimer happy than tick them off like the other dealer did.

I'd go in there and run over the service manager. "I have the right to remove anything in my way"

It looks like maintenence is complete because the site is back up.

If the GM refuses to replace something (whether OE or aftermarket) they broke while doing a repair to your vehicle I would file a complaint with the BBB. At least that way there's a record of it giving future customers a heads-up about the type of service performed at that particular dealership.

First, was this a "warranty repair", if so that MIGHT alter the arguement. But even at that, I still don't think it argues it enough to give them the right to DESTROY your property. If it was NOT a warranty repair, they have ZERO arguement.
Either way, at the point that it was a problem, they have an obligation to contact YOU, the CUSTOMER!

I completely agree. I would go one further, if this was NOT a warranty claim and I paid by charge card, I'd consider putting the charge into dispute. That tends to flag a LOT of attention and get results, people want paid.

Again, destroying YOUR property is NOT acceptable.

when i talked to that rep he said that dealer i went to originaly didnt have the right. to do what they have done he has seen the issue before and reported it to gm office as well took my complaint about it. i finnally got the money from that dealer that did that damage. thats why i was going to get anouther it seems that the service manager and a few that worked at that one dealership are no longer there any more. after that experence for trying to get a new bcm and reprogramming left me kind of not wanting to go there for any thing at all like the dealler only items. things like that. the reason why i go to the other dealer is to have a record of having the trans serviced. as well as the tps serviced. found out that gm is trying to make a tps system delete for the ones who has been having problems with the tps system. i am going on a third set so far.

Sorry, but that's destruction of property.

You shouldn't have paid for the work they did, but since you did you accepted the contract. If you wouldn't have paid you would have been able to take a stance in court.

i didnt pay a dime the general manager at that dealer was there he said i didnt have to pay a dime. i was glad it took a couple of days for me to get the check for a new one but i didnt have to pay any thing. he said any repair would be free for the life of the monte. i told him i will be taking it to anouther dealer if i need any major work done. i was glad i didnt have to pay a dime of the repair caust and got refunded the caust of the cai. i am glad i had a friend of mine picking up his car he is a atturny he walked up and said is my client having trubble to the gm. it looks like they had lost buisness from every one in ear shot of how loud i was and hearing a atturny speaking up.

the new dealer i do business with is glad to help plus they said they would put on the new one. well maniac i am glad that it was setled but finding a new dealer to do some more major work as well as the odd and ends as well as putting on some thing aftermarket is a bonus. i seen them put on a cai on a comarro from cai inc. plus others just to make the custimer happy as well making them have a peace of mind as well. i talked to the service manager about the bad experence that i had with that other dealer. he said 1 a cai will not ham a engine running with out a filter yes running with one no after market headers and exaughst will not harm the power train either. unless it is abused as in not doing fluids breaks and things like that. he said we can tell if a car gets abused do to abnormal wear or install was done wrong or no maintenence. i am glad to find a dealer that sees the aftermarket as a blessing and able to work with and help the driver who loves there cars.
