Default Performance mods?

Ok. I've got 3K on mama's '06 SS now. I've already had the exhaust shop do the u-bend delete, remove the resonator, and replace the muffs with Magnaflow's. Sounds GOOD!! Nice V8 growl!! I want to put a CAI on it, thinking WizardAir(sp). So, I want something to hop up the ECU from there. Any recommendations? I'm actually not coming up with much searching the internet. Diablo seems to be about it. I like the idea of reloading the stock tune if needed(dealer visit). Any good? MAS? I'm looking to add 20hp or a little better. I have a reason behind this. Sibling rivalry. My sister has an '06 Forrester XTi? Hubby has installed a STi exhaust, and a BIG tune on the 'puter. She's running 13.9 at the track. I don't intend to race mama's SS, but I REALLY want to spank the Forrester, especially considering if I can do it for about 1K, vs. the 2.5K he's put into the Forrester! I love sibling rivalry!! Thanks in advance!!

You might be able to get a Hypertech programmer in the near future, but there isn't much out there yet. You will need to wait another year or so before you see any real modifications become available. Maybe much longer due to the fact as there hasn't been a real large interest in upgrading these engines.

See this is what I was saying in another post about the V8 in the SS. It's just not that impressive of a motor. But I do hope you can spank the Forester sometime in the future.

yup, there is... it's slight - not as bad as they used to be, but it's there...

I didn't think there was a u-bend either

the only thing i could think of would be to replace the exhaust with 3" mandral bent pipe but thats all i could think of maybe good for 5 hp but i also dont know what the stock pipe is like and if it is restrictive

it shouldn't take much to beat your sister as your SS should be running mid to high 13's stock. It should be a good close race as it stands now.

I don't thinkyou understand. I don't want it to be a close race. I want 2+ car lengths. Yeah, I'm greedy. [sm=devilgrin.gif]
