I like the grill. I think if the fogs were just the round housings (like you said, no point) would be better.
If you're trying things, maybe try hitting under the headlights like I mentioned earlier (I think that would add a LOT and be something I have never seen on a Monte to my knowledge).

The lower grill looks good! but maybe go without the fogs IMO.
