Default Need some help deciding please

I currently own Lincoln ls sport v8 and I'm looking to trade it in for monte!! My question is I have two options currently available. 2004 MC SS intimidator edition for $11,998 with 74000 mileage or 2006 MC SS with 60,000 miles for 14000. I want to mod the car to get into the low 13's or low 12's so aftermarket does play a big role. What should I do?

I own an 06 Monte myself. I have to say, I really like the intimidator. I really like the 6th gen front a little more then I like the 7th gen front. The 7th gen front looks a lot like the Impalas front where the 6th gen has kind of a front that is all it's own which I really like. However, I really really enjoy the power and sound you get from the 5.3L V8. Personally because I know how the 7th gen runs and how nice of a car it is, I would recommend it.

Thanks guys! How is the 06 V8 on gas and reliability...Is there a good aftermarket for the 5.3 engine? I have experienced with the 3800 SC engine when I had my Regal GS. Really great engines.

the aftermarket with direct bolt ons isnt great for the 5.3, but most of the LSX parts will interchange with a little work. theres a big difference between a low 13 car and a low 12 car. low 12s would be easiest with a turbo. low 13s would be possible with a ls1/6 intake, ls2 throttle body, and a tune.

they arent great on gas but they arent terrible either. i get 24/25 on the highway. city mileage is bad though. reliability wise the only things to really be worried about is the transmission, and oil consumption(the latter only really applies if you keep dod).

id say go ls4 only because the car is 2 years newer. that and they sound way better than the 3.8.
