Default What do you love most about your monte?

Probably the biggest question ever.....
I know we love everything about our cars, but what is the one thing that you love the most about your monte?(or monte's)

For me, it has to be the sound of the supercharger. Coming from owning 2 n/a 3800's before... I first tapped on the gas and listened to that "Whurrrrrrr!" it was it. It was the first car I could say I'm happy to sit in. I didn't even have to test drive it and I said 'gimme the keys!' Still to this day, even without any modifications that sound is just amazing

For those who don't know what I'm talking about.......

It's a legitimately good looking, distinguishable car from all angles. Nowadays there are so many cars that look alike but there's really no mistaking this car for anything else.

The bumpers and tail lights are unique in that they aren't just crescent shaped, they have curves; and the taillights are vertical and round instead of horizontal and squarish like 95% of cars out there.

I guess if I had to narrow down to ONE thing, I'd say the 3800 v6. It's been a great engine for GM running many years and has lot of modding potential.

There is plenty I love about my Monte. Like many here, I've put lots of work into doing various custom changes to it. It is far from the car it was when I first brought it home. I've been inspired to do and learn more then I ever cared about. And it's so true when you get the mod bug, you never stop!

Though I agree there is a LOT of unique flavor to the Monte, the interior, the exterior and if you look some of the body lines on it are familiar from previous generations. But, I found ONE angle the 6th gen Monte shares with another relative (and I believe the 7th gen Monte also shares the same angle with a different relative). Not 100% identical, but dang close!!

If I had to choose 1 thing and one thing only, it would be the nice throaty sound of my LS4 5.3L V8. I have always wanted a car that didn't just putt putt around like a Prius or really most cars out there. I know most cars are fairly quick these days with the modern engines in them. But I love the growl and the power of the 5.3L V8. From this point on I don't think I could ever go to a smaller engine. Even on my next car which will probably be a Challenger or a Camaro, I will have to go with the SS or ZL1 for the Camaro, or If I go with a Challenger it will have to be the 392 hemi. Something people don't tell you as a kid is that Horsepower is addictive as can be haha.

I grew up in a Chevy family. Dad loved the monte Carlos. The last car he bright was a 84 Monte. Guess it Is under my skin and in my blood. I have owned 3 montes now an 2001, 2004 and a 2006. Almost can feel my dad in Deuce when I goto car shows.

I would have to go with the looks of it. I always get the feeling people are staring at me/it while i'm driving down the street. Of course the power of the supercharger is a close second.
